This week it is once again apparent, we art not yet there. Where, you ask? Well, if you take a glance at the calendar you would need to assume we are not yet back up to speed on local, live music.
Or, as pointed out by the crew at the Fayetteville Flyer, it is somewhat quiet now that the UA students have
left town for the summer. Even with the seeming lack of live music, I am betting it is out there if you look. Please follow your favorite artists, bands, and venues and keep your ear to the ground. And...please email me if you have leads!
For our news, don't miss this week's new article announcing the youth master class workshop Ozark Blues Society is sponsoring in late July. What a great opportunity for young musicians to hone their chops! Check out the article for more information. Returning articles this week include a "Mark Your Calendar" article sharing the planned date for the fall OBS Blues Challenge. Also, for harmonica enthusiasts, you will find an article with information for how to get involved in the 2021 SPAH convention which is being held online again this year. You will also find information about an interesting new website called Working Mojo. The site features interviews with working blues artists about their songwriting projects.

Just Announced!
Youth Master Class
Blues Workshop
|
The Ozark Blues Society of Northwest Arkansas will be sponsoring a master class workshop in the blues for young guitar and harp players on July 29-30, 2021 at the Meteor Guitar Gallery
in Bentonville. The sessions will be
with Akeem Kemp for guitar and
David Berntson for harp. The event will culminate in a concert Friday night,
July 30th at the Meteor.
The workshop will be open to guitar and harp players ages 12-18. This is unusual opportunity for young blues players or those talented young players who want to learn the blues to get instruction from these exceptional blues recording artists. Participants will be sponsored by the Ozark Blues Society, so there will be no cost for participants. To be sponsored,
