We are over a a week into the year's shortest month. For me as much as I try to keep an eye on the progress of time, February always tries to beat me to the punch. Add into that the roller coaster ride that IS February weather and....well, hold on and enjoy the ride!
This week there are a couple new news items below. One is information about the upcoming annual board meeting and elections and the other is a call out to local bands interested in assisting with Blues in the Schools in the next few weeks.
As I mentioned last week, the blues world is full of news and I am always looking for folks interested in helping take this newsletter to the next level! Email Sandy at the link below for more information.
As always, don't forget to check out the calendar below so you don't miss all the other fun live music events in the area!
And always remember, this is YOUR newsletter! Please send feedback or suggestions our way. You can reach me by email at the address below. We LOVE our readers and want to see
your ideas included!

Calling All Artists Interested in
Blues in the Schools
|
Ozark Blues Society is looking to update our list of local/regional artists who would like to participate in our Blues in the Schools Programs. We have an upcoming need for a band to assist in our annual Fayetteville Public Schools 7th grade outreach. Though it functions as an outreach, this daytime program is a paid activity for the local artists that participate. The 2019 dates have not been set but will likely be scheduled soon and the program will take place in the next few weeks. Ozark Blues Society will assist as needed in the presentation so no experience is required. If your band, or one you
know of, is interested in contributing, please email Sandy McCann |

Ozark Blues Society
Annual Meeting
and Elections
|
With our annual meeting fast approaching (watch this newsletter and our website for upcoming announcement of date) Ozark Blues Society board of directors is seeking input from our members in the form of nominations of members and friends who might be interested in joining the board or serving as an officer. Membership is required to officially nominate and vote but if you, or someone you know, is interested, please email LIZ LOTTMANN for more information. |

Another year of the International Blues Challenge has been put in the record books. Our Blues Challenge winners represented Northwest Arkansas well, playing their hearts out as they joined over 200 acts from around the world at clubs up and down Beale Street. Though our sponsored band, Vox Squadron didn't advance beyond quarter-finals, our solo artist, Tony Redman made it to semi-finals. He played a great set for semis, but did not advance to finals.
Please put your hands together one more time for these artists. IBC is a BIG deal and they all pushed through like pros.
