With Black Friday and Cyber Monday behind us as we turn the calendar page to December, we start the full countdown
to Christmas. Today as you go about
your work and perhaps some Holiday preparation, why not take a
moment to click on the "On this day in Blues History" link to
the right. While you enjoy the audio of blues by Sippie Wallace and The Neville Brothers, let it transport you to the heart of the history of the Blues. As shown in the photo, today is the anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Blues music has at it's heart the empowerment of oppressed people. Let's hope the music's focus can continue to help overcome adversity in these modern times.
Let me mention again, we will soon be in the midst of election season for the Ozark Blues Society Board of Directors. Read on below about what it takes to get involved.
Another reminder to remember to mark your calendar for our January Fundraiser. Our annual IBC fundraiser at the 21c is always a BLAST!
Though the event calendar definitely
slows during the holidays, there is still a host of exciting music that goes on weekly here in Northwest Arkansas.
Keep me posted about events and shows in our area and ideas of what you would like to see in this Newsletter.
