Reverend Freakchild :: HILLBILLY ZEN-PUNK BLUES
In the tradition of such Blues Reverends as Rev. Gary Davis - such is the irreverent Reverend Freakchild. He often performs solo and is sometimes accompanied by a band. This latest project, Hillbilly Zen- Punk Blues, was recorded at Excello studios in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and enlisted the talents of New York master blues artist Hugh Pool, who not only co-produced with award winning Sal Paradise, but also plays some amazing harmonica and lap steel. The drummer for the session was the world famous Chris Parker, who has graced the stage and studio with many great musicians, such as Paul Butterfield, John Hammond Jr., Bob Dylan, and Joe Cocker. ... Award-Winning Songwriter-Guitarist D.L. Duncan’s New Album places him in the Blues and Roots Heartland
D.L. Duncan’s new, self-titled CD places him right in the middle of today’s blues and roots groundswell. Recorded in Lafayette, Louisiana and Nashville, Tennessee, this album is Duncan at his best.
Thanks to his two Gold Records for country songs and two nominations for the Blues Music Association’s Song of the Year, many music insiders have known of the songwriter “Dave” Duncan for years, but his current album announces to the world that the new D.L. Duncan is coming on strong as a performer as well.
Upbeat and positive, humorous and sincere, the music jumps out of the speakers right from the first downbeat of “I Ain’t the Sharpest Marble” and continues flowing right on through to the final sweet slide guitar licks of “All I Have To Offer You Is Love.” ... Read more details about D.L. Duncan

Jake Nielsen’s Triple Threat singing the blues in Tahoe
LAKE TAHOE, CA - Jake Nielsen is an inspiration, and on Saturday, Dec. 5, he’s going to be singing the blues at Whiskey Dick’s Saloon in South Lake Tahoe.
Not that he has the blues.
Nielsen, 30, was born with cerebral palsy, which limits the use of his legs. But he doesn’t let that slow him down. This weekend’s show in Tahoe marks his second South Shore visit in three months and his band has logged more than 100 gigs this year.
Nielsen’s online bio tells his story. An active youngster, he played a number of sports, including wheelchair basketball, and baseball for kids with special needs. ... Read more about Jake Nielsen
Alabama Blues Project Celebrates 20 Years of Blues Programming
TUSCALOOSA, AL - The Alabama Blues Project is celebrating 20 years of blues programming! Our program started with a handful of children at the Boy's and Girl's club. Today, our award winning programs are taught to thousands each year all over the state of Alabama by accomplished musicians.
At least 80% of our children are considered at-risk. Our programs are open to the entire community and have been awarded the National Coming Up Taller Award by the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities and a Keeping the Blues Alive Award from the Blues Foundation.
While most programs are funded partially from grants, we still depend on your help to continue providing quality music programs to underserved children. ...
