As many Blues fans are aware, it is IBC (International Blues Challenge) week in Memphis this week! Blues Societies who are affiliates of the Blues Foundation have sent their local Blues Challenge Winners to compete. Of course the competition aspect of IBC week is important, but there is so much more for both musicians and fans to experience as they gather on Beale Street in Memphis this week. We congratulate the Chad Marshall Band on their achievements as IBC Quarter-finalists. Read on below for more information!
Up tonight the IBC Youth Showcase. We wish our local young Bluesman, Chyrell Stanley, the best as he performs tonight. You can find the IBC schedule HERE.

What is the International Blues Challenge and why does Ozark
Blues Society send representatives each year? Great Question!
The main focus at the Blues Foundation's event, commonly referred to as IBC, is certainly
on the "competition." This aspect certainly represents a significant challenge for all the acts that participate, but the BIGGER aspect of the IBC, is that it is the largest gathering of Blues musicians, Blues fans, and Blues promoters and represents an AMAZING opportunity for acts and fans alike to network.
IBC regulars often refer to it as Schmoozing, but an there is an amazing history of rising Blues musicians making contacts
during IBC that help them rise
in their Blues careers. The Ozark Blues Society Board of Directors recognizes this sometimes overlooked perk, and encourage
all our sponsored acts to take advantage of the many opportunities beyond the competition itself that
are offered during IBC week.
 Northwest Arkansas's 2024 IBC entry, the Chad Marshall Band, have exited the Challenge following the conclusion of the quarter-final round. We ask you to join us in thanking them for their amazing representation of Northwest Arkansas. We wish them the best as they Schmooze with the Blues community all up and down Beale Street and as they move forward making their music!

Coming to Fayetteville Arkansas Black Film And Music Expo February 9-10

BACK FOR ITS THIRD YEAR!
Music Moves, a local non-profit organization proudly announces the Arkansas Black Film & Music Expo, a groundbreaking event set to take place on February 9 and 10, 2023,
at the Fayetteville Town Center in Fayetteville Arkansas. This two-day
celebration aims to showcase the rich diversity of talent within the black film and music industries, bringing together artists, enthusiasts, and industry professionals for an unforgettable experience.
The Film Expo- in partnership with
the Black-owned film company, DAYVISION - will take place
on Friday, February 9 and will be a day filled with thought-provoking panels, captivating film screenings by Arkansan filmmakers , and an exclusive keynote address by actress Daphne Maxwell Reid, known for her iconic role as Vivian Banks, or
"Aunt Viv," in the beloved 90’s TV
show Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
The Music Expo on Saturday, February 10 will feature stellar performances by renowned R&B
icon Lyfe Jennings and hip-hop sensation Yung Joc. The stage will also be graced by the musical talents of local artists such as Akeem Kemp and the Arkansas Gospel Chorale.
Additionally, Music Moves will be partnering with the Fayetteville Mardi Gras parade by providing an HBCU marching band. Following the parade, there will be an after-session where
families can enjoy music and fun educational activities for the kids.
