We invite you to join us as we feature one of Napa Valley's most historic wineries, Chateau Montelena. The estate was originally purchased in 1882 and began producing wine in 1886. Changing ownership throughout the years, Chateau Montelena is best known for the "Paris Tasting of 1976." In this blind tasting of four white Burgundies and six California Chardonnays, Chateau Montelena's 1973 Chardonnay was rated above all the other wines. The results proved that Chateau Montelena could produce some of the world's finest wines and that California's wine industry had come of age.
