In the October meeting, Lieutenant Colonel Jennifer A. Reynolds
US Army Corps of Engineers - Deputy District Commander, joined us for special presentation. 
 
The presentation focused on the progress of different projects,
and steps forward to stop the harmful discharges to the St. Lucie Estuary and restore water flows
to the Everglades.

Martin County River Kidz
 
River Kidz in Our Schools 
On December 3rd, the River Kidz were
invited to Jensen Beach Elementary School to present to all the 3rd grade classes.  The students were all very enthusiastic about wanting to save our lagoon! Each child received a workbook, a bracelet and a membership card. 
 
River Kidz Noted in a Speech by Senator Joe Negron
In his senate presidency designation speech, Senator Joe Negron referred to the River Kidz' notable presence regarding the Lake Okeechobee releases in 2013. Senator Negron said of the River Kidz, they are "young people who came together to support our efforts." Along with coverage from The Stuart News, local, state, and national attention was brought to the issues resulting from  Okeechobee releases.

The Seafood Festival was held on November 21st and 22nd
