Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado ::
In 2014, something unusual happened. On the strength of their breakthrough album Too Many Roads, Denmark's Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado went global. Now it's one thing for an artist from Copenhagen to enjoy success at home and in a few adjacent countries. But the release of Too Many Roads saw the seven-piece combo fronted by singer and guitarist Risager gaining widespread notoriety in the U.S. and being invited to play in locales as far away as Mumbai, India. The album took home the Danish Music Award as the Top Blues Album of 2014 and also earned Germany's illustrious "Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik.” But perhaps even more impressively, it was selected as one the year's best by Britain's influential The Blues magazine,

Lara & The Bluz Dawgz :: HOWLIN’
There are many shades of blue, but the blues range from deep cerulean to hot crimson. Singer Lara Germony and her bassist husband Gregg lead their Bluz Dawgz from Nashville through a veritable musical rainbow on their sophomore recording Howlin’. Like Devil Moon (2012) released to glowing reviews, Howlin’ runs the gamut from jazzy cool to outright rocking. Twelve original romantic tales feature the estimable talents of Al Rowe (guitars), Dan Nadasdi (keyboards), Ray Gonzales (drums) and Reggie Murray (tenor saxophone) in a seamless ensemble.
“Uh Huh” boogies as Lara’s velvety chops express regret and Murray and Rowe console instrumentally. Find more details about this release

National Blues Museum announces April opening
ST. LOUIS, MO - The National Blues Museum has set April 2, 2016, as its opening day. The project intends to tell the history of blues music through exhibits and community outreach.
Dave Beardsly, Mike Kociela and Rob Endicott, who heads the museum’s board, launched the project more than two years ago. The new museum will fill 23,000 square feet in the Mercantile Exchange building downtown. Multiple blues musicians and celebrities such as Buddy Guy and Jack White have supported the project and helped raise funds. Initially, supporters hoped the museum would open in 2014.
