John Mayall:: FIND A WAY TO CARE
Produced by John Mayall (who also did the graphic design and artwork for the album) and Forty Below’s Eric Corne, Find a Way to Care was recorded at the House of Blues Studio in Encino, California. In addition to Mayall (vocals, piano, Hammond organ, Wurlitzer, clavinet, guitar and harmonica), featured on the sessions are Rocky Athas (lead and rhythm guitar), Greg Rzab (bass) and Jay Davenport (drums), who collectively are now into their seventh year as John’s band. The group is also augmented by a horn section on several tracks.

About the new album, Eric Corne says, “I really wanted to feature John's keyboard playing on this record. Find more details about this release

Jimmy Burns :: IT AIN’T RIGHT
A walk in the Delta with sanctified swagger, It Ain't Right is a joyous culmination and testimonial to Jimmy's vocal talent and musical gifts. Relevant and inspiring, these songs are loaded with a great sense of collective purpose. Other musicians may cover a tune, but his clear and soulful message and individual approach make any song directly his own, and Jimmy Burns our musical treasure. Burns returned to Delmark studio for this much anticipated new recording, his best since ‘96s modern, yet timeless classic, Leaving Here Walking.

Jimmy is absolutely one of the best vocalist’s out there, and he also plays some extremely tasty, melodic and distinctive guitar and harmonica. The song repertoire is strong and diverse with two new originals from guitarist Billy Flynn and covers both popular and obscure with Jimmy making them all sound uniquely like his own. 4th Annual Baja Blues Fest supplies Warm Breezes and Hot Blues
ROSARITO, BAJA, MX - I was lucky enough to be asked to represent the Blues Festival Guide at the Baja Blues Fest at the Rosarito Beach Hotel in Rosarito, Baja, Mexico. This festival is hosted by the Baja Blues Fest Organization and Jackie Alameda (President and Secretary), Joan Swartzlander (Director of Activities), Tom Stewart (Talent Coordinator) and all of their amazing volunteers, know how to put on an event. From the moment we arrived I could tell they knew what they were doing. Everyone was so happy and helpful, from the ladies handing out the Press Passes, the peeps checking in the musicians and all of the employees of the Rosarito Beach Hotel, including the guards out front (who helped us find a taxi). Read entire Baja Blues Fest recap

Blues Foundation News
- KBA Nominations Deadline September 30

MEMPHIS, TN -The Blues Foundation presents the Keeping the Blues Alive (KBA) Awards to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Blues world.

The KBAs are awarded strictly on the basis of merit by a select panel of Blues professionals. The KBA may be awarded for the recipient’s work in the past year but most often reflects a lifetime of work. In other words, we don’t view the recipient as the winner of a ‘best of the year’ category. Consistent with this philosophy, the committee generally refrains from awarding the KBA to an individual or organization more than once. Rather, the committee is looking for new deserving recipients.
