ESTUARY AND LAKE OKEECHOBEE SCIENTIST TO GIVE EXPERT VIEW
ON STATUS OF WATERS
As we drift into the wet season, what's the real situation with the St. Lucie River and Lake Okeechobee systems? More pollution ahead?
Dr. Paul Gray, one of the most highly regarded biologists around, will give his take of how things stand with the waters, at an evening meeting of the Rivers Coalition at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Stuart City Hall.
Admission is free, with plenty of free parking as well. Here's a rare chance to enjoy time with Dr. Gray, who's known for his low-key but authoritative insights.
He'll be fielding questions from our dedicated citizens.
And you won't have to go to Uruguay. That's where Paul recently took part in an international wetlands consortium that drew 800 delegates from 160 countries. It's a wetlands organization of direct interest to the Rivers Coalition. We urge you to visit their website at ramsar.org
