Scott Ellison :: ELEVATOR MAN
|
Elevator Man by acclaimed blues guitarist and Oklahoma Blues Hall of Famer Scott Ellison was produced by Walt Richmond (Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt). The CD features backing vocals by the legendary Marcy Levy, who spent years lending her sweet-and-sassy voice to tours by Clapton, Leon Russell and Bob Seger (that's Levy you hear harmonizing on Clapton's recording of "Lay Down Sally," which she also co-wrote).
Scott Ellison is a Tulsa-based guitarist who has been performing since the 1970s. Having been brought up in America's heartland, he developed a laid-back style of playing tempered by an uncanny ability to be feisty and fiery when the song calls for it. Find more details about this release

* The Blues Foundation Selects New President & CEO- 2016 - KBA Nominations Deadline September 30

*See article about the selection of the new Blues Foundation President under the "NEWS FLASH" section in this issue!
KBA Nominations Deadline September 30
MEMPHIS, TN -The Blues Foundation presents the Keeping the Blues Alive (KBA) Awards to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Blues world.
The KBAs are awarded strictly on the basis of merit by a select panel of Blues professionals. The KBA may be awarded for the recipient’s work in the past year but most often reflects a lifetime of work. In other words, we don’t view the recipient as the winner of a ‘best of the year’ category. Consistent with this philosophy, the committee generally refrains from awarding the KBA to an individual or organization more than once. Rather, the committee is looking for new deserving recipients.
