Blues News You Can Use!
On the Road Blues
Today as well as next week this newsletter is coming to you from on the road as I am traveling. I promise not to bore you with vacation photos or anything!  I am sure you all have stories of your biggest vacation blues.  For me, we left out last evening to put some miles behind us in a rental car we were assured was "fine" even though we questioned a tire reading.  Well....woke up this morning to have some flat tire blues.  Several hours into this we are still waiting for the roadside assistance to arrive and are not completely sure what the remedy will be since we are in small town Oklahoma. Here's to hoping next week I will not have more on the road blues to report.  I heard from several readers last week with ideas but it is still my passion to have this newsletter have something for everybody, so remember, if you have input or suggestions for this newsletter, or if your band supports Ozark Blues Society in our mission of "Keeping the Blues Alive" and would like to be featured in this newsletter, hit me up with an e-mail. I do believe among our readers there are many of you who do a better job than I do keeping up with the happenings in the blues world. You know the deal, e-mail me anytime at smccann7@sbcglobal.net  ~Sandy McCann

Little Joe McLerran
Is Coming to Bentonville
When: Saturday August 22
Where: Walmart World Room Bentonville
Here’s your chance to hear some
world class blues music !
Little Joe won the 2009 International Blues Challenge in Memphis at the age of 25. It was
the 25th annual staging of the event and as Little Joe took first place in the solo division he thought, “Why did this take so long”? Little Joe has been playing the guitar and singing his piedmont blues since he was eight.

Little Joe has toured on 4-continents now as he added South America on tour as a musical ambassador to Paraguay and Colombia.

Since winning the IBC title Little Joe has played festivals, concerts and club dates across the US and abroad. Little Joe's latest album, FaceBook Blues was released in late 2012 and has been nominated for Best Traditional Blues album of 2013 by Blues Blast Magazine. His critically acclaimed CD “Believe I’ll Make a Change” rose to number 1 on the blues radio charts early in 2010 and remained at the top of the charts for months. (See Downbeat review Sept /10)
