Fireworks and Blues?
Here's to hoping that our readers will enjoy a wonderful 4th of July Fireworks and that the only blues in your lives will be those you are listening to while you
enjoy your weekend.

Interestingly I went looking to see if there is anywhere where blues music is part of the presentation of the fireworks display.  It turns out that "one of the the biggest, brightest and most extravagant displays in the U.S."  is part of the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland Oregon.  For all of you who are closet pyromaniacs here is

that highlights the top 10 fireworks displays across the nation. Perhaps the Waterfront Blues Festival is worth the trip for those who like blues...and things blowing up!

So now it brings me to my usual pitch...If anyone has input or suggestions for this newsletter, or if your band supports Ozark Blues Society in our mission of "Keeping the Blues Alive" and would like to be featured in this newsletter, hit me up with an e-mail. You know the deal, e-mail me anytime at smccann7@sbcglobal.net  ~Sandy McCann

Welcome New Board Members
The board of Ozark Blues Society is growing.  At our monthly meeting last week we welcomed two more new board members.  Ozark Blues Society would like to welcome Bruce Bennett and Cheryl Canfield.  We have two other potential candidates in the nomination process.  As a society made up completely of volunteers we have seen in the past that sometimes life intrudes and board member's availability changes.  Because of that we would like to continue to encourage readers to contact Bill Baird if they are interested in being involved at the organizational level.   For more information you can  email Bill Baird at bbaird07@sbcglobal.net

“As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality.”
