Exciting news: the Dmitri Matheny Group is ready to record our popular JAZZ NOIR project—and we need your help to make it happen.
JAZZ NOIR offers a fresh spin on favorite movie themes (film noir, spy thrillers and crime dramas), new original works and classic jazz. Highlights include:
- cinematic themes Touch of Evil, Laura, Chinatown, Vertigo, Taxi Driver, The Godfather, Blues In The Night, The Bad And The Beautiful, Young Man With A Horn and Stormy Weather,
- the hauntingly introspective Concierto de Aranjuez,
- timeless classics My Kind of Love (Alter & Trent), Eclypso (Tommy Flanagan) Just In Time (Jule Styne) and Golden Lady (Stevie Wonder), and
- our original Crime Scenes suite, a dreamlike series of vignettes with voiceover narration in the hardboiled style of Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler.
