Artist Spotlight - Hadden Sayers

Coming to George's Majestic Lounge on May 24th - Hadden Sayers... a truely gifted, talented and entertaining performer!

Some of you may have caught him at the Eureka Springs Blues Weekend last year.  Hadden played guitar in Ruthie Foster's band and also did a seperate show with his band at the Basin Park Hotel... both performances were absolutely wonderful!  For those of you who are not familiar with Hadden, head on, check out the YouTube clip and plan to come out to George's on Friday, May 24th.

Blind Raccoon Music recently had this to say about Hadden...

For most musicians, “the road” is a place of either hedonism or heartache. Contrasts on the far ends of a far too common cliché. But for soul-blues guitar slinger Hadden Sayers, the road is a comfortable buzz of underground fans and passionate shows.

It wasn’t always this way. Because for a while, Sayers wasn’t on the road.

He built a successful career in Houston, Texas before relocating to the Midwest so his wife could pursue a career in cancer research. But then, shifty record companies faded away. Band members died tragically. The gigs stopped coming through and the phone stopped ringing. The ’57 Strat stayed in its case.

Fayetteville Springfest 2013

Fayetteville Springfest began in 1983 by merchants on Dickson Street as a way to celebrate the history, culture, and flavor of Fayetteville. The festival quickly became a late-April staple each year featuring a pancake breakfast, lots of live music, kid-friendly activities, arts and crafts vendors and the annual “bed races” where teams of participants put together their own racing beds and wheel them up Dickson Street.

After a year off last year, Springfest is back, and we think the festival will be better than ever in 2013.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 4. We hope to see you on Dickson Street!
