AHA-PHRODITE:

The Muse of Paying Attention

Art is Everywhere

Walking in uptown San Diego

I came across this brussel sprout,

so perfect, kinda strange,

just laying there green against the terra cotta canvas of a sidewalk.

A glance through the lens,

my jeans offering some denim

and my shoes, some gray, white and pink...

there in the gallery of everyday life

was a study in color and a off-brussel-beat moment,

sprouting with creative possibility.

Just the picture was enough, but then I wondered, what's this brussel sprout's story?

My FaceBook page has become a forum to practice creative thought through prompts, captions and spontaneous blurts, so I knew my friends would know the answer about the brussel sprout. Feel free to join in.

Here are three of my favorites:

Andrew Petersen: Thats my ball, please don't pick it up. That will cost me a stroke. vegetarian urban golf is hard, man.

Richard Fine: Free range veggies always taste best...

Jill Allison Bryan: Brussels Sprout For You

Just Rolled Right Up to Your Shoe

Wonder Which Said Pew?

But more importantly, it is with eyes and mind wide open that we witness the art everywhere in each possible moment from the mundane to the rich, and it IS affordable, because it's free. No money is needed to translate what we see, hear and feel to art, music and grace. Go find some.

Fear/Ego/inner Critic Talk:

  • I'm not good enough.

 Muse-Talk Practice:

  • I can't wait to see what I come up with next.
  • Questions:What in this moment is art or possibility? Where will paying attention serve me?What if your eyes were a camera lens?

Filling the Creative Tank

The creative mind requires a full tank of self confidence.

Our tanks only fill when we begin to pay attention to what we are saying to ourselves-changing self-talk with ruthless repetition if it's not working.

Aha-phrodite inspires us to: Pay attention to what IS working,  give ourselves credit for what we DO get done. and notice that several articles of clothing have no spaghetti sauce stain at all.

Read that -------------------------------------->

What would it be like to take a day or two and record every thing that goes right for you, from the very tiny to the huge?

Notice how it feels to just consider the question. Imagine if you did that regularly.

Tanks a lot for reading,
